By the matrix, have I really neglected my journal for this long!

current mood: moderatly pleased
current song: Might Gaine OST

GRAH! It's been too long since I last wrote up an entry. To much crap as gone down and up to even bother writing it all. I'll just leave it to the bare important minimums.

1. Went to animazement at the end of may. Twas a blast. I didn't really go to any panels so missed a few things but saw some pretty cool cosplays but there was a sad shortage of /m/ awesome. I didn't actually cosplay but I did make a giant hammer out of foam to be the Goldion Hammer from GaoGaiGar. The only thing I was missing was some yellow plastidip and it would have been perfect. I've still got it in order to perfect it and use again if I ever make a full GGG costume.

2. I finally started working again at the carbon plant here in town. It's a tough job. Waking up at 5:30 am to get there by 6:30 and work to 3:00pm. The work it self is physically demanding as well doing stuff like breaking up carbon rock piles, cleaning up pitch shit, and other various dirty jobs, but the pay is definitely worth it. About $16 an hour!! I net around $500 a week but I have to pay half to my parents for my education due to my less than stellar performance at UNCA. Then I put half of what's left in my savings and the rest goes in my pocket.

3. I saw the Transformers movie last week. COMPLETELY AND WHOLEY EPIC!!! I was afraid it'd be too human centric like some past transformer series has been but it was balanced pretty well. When I first saw the movie designs I wasn't very comfortable with them but they slowly grew on me and seeing them in action made me like them even more. and now I think I have almost all the deluxe class of the movie toys except bumble bee and scorponok. And the DS game is pretty good to. Gives you alot of the freedom that you'd have if you were an alien robot larger than organic lifeforms. I'm playing the autobot version mind you (what can I say, I've always been a good guy). You play as a nameless autobot voiced by Stephen Jay Blume (aka. Spike Speigle, Mugen, and many other voices). You can roam around in full 3D and scan random cars and other vehicles like choppers and buses and use them as your vehicle form.

So yeah, every things been going pretty smoothly. The only things that could make the rest of the summer awesome is if I could get together with some of my college friends before the break ends. And to get a wii. ^_^

Today was day full of win. I finished all 49 by marathoning the last six episodes this morning. They were made of hotblood and epic win! You've got GaoGaiGar swinging the Goldion Hammer turning everything to light and you've got the Brave Robots Symmetrical Docking with their opposite brothers. King J-Der J-Quaoth-ing the living daylights out of everything.

Squeeing aside, the series was very solid. For a super robot show it had a lot of real elements such as war tactics, vehicle designs and having to do more than shot more missles. Even though the good guys won all the time they really had to work at to achieve victory and it didn't always go as planned. The GGG took more than a fair share of losses through out the series but you just love them for their perseverance. The animation was pretty strong from start to finish. There were the ocaisonal flash back scenes to reuse animation and one episode made completely out of reused animation. The show wasn't very big on characterzation or character development but there were a lot of good bits to enjoy when a specific character got its time in the spot light to show what they're made of. It takes a while for the true awesomeness of the show to become apparent. The first twenty or so episodes your like "heh, this is pretty cool" but after that your like "HOLY SHIT, THIS IS AWESOME".

In other words, if you love transforming robots, lots of explosions, shouting attack names and a good story to boot, do yourself a favor and WATCH THIS.

Now I really want to get the toys for this show but I need to get a job again ;_;

Being sick isn't so bad when you've got a broad band connection.

February 21st, 2007 (05:48 pm)
sick

current location: the bed of healing
current mood: sick

So I've been sick these past days and oh has it been fun. Monday and Tuesday was when it started with nothing more than a head ache and a sore throat. Tuesday night was when it got worse. Coughing every minute, couldn't sleep. A whole lot of yuck really. And now I'm feeling better with a slight head ache and just a little bit stuffy. But it wasn't too bad when you have a broad band connection to keep you entertained. I found more episodes of Keroro Gunsou so I now have up to ep 78, found full seasons of the 2003 TMNT show and saw the episode that was never aired in america, and of course good ole Busou Renkin. I love that show so much.

So I haven't updated this thing in for ever, but I really don't have much more to add.

I've discovered a new form of CRACK!!!!

TRANSFORMER'S COMICS!!!

Yes, I finally got around to buying and reading a few Transformer comics I've been meaning to get into. I started out with a four issue series called Evolutions: Hearts of Steel. It goes with the premise of what if the Transformers woke up during the Industrial Revolution in America. the first two issues were pretty good in that it looked like it was building up to something epic, but it only ended with the Decepticons on a huge ass train engine falling in a canyon. Had it have been longer it might not have felt so rushed.

The next one I tried was the first issue of StormBringer which deals with how cybertron is dieing and how it's affecting its denizens. It starts of with Skyfire and a troop of his going on an expedition to try and anylyze the situation and then get trampled by some energy beings that came from Cybertron itself. That's as far as I got as my store didn't have Issue 2 but it did have 3 and 4 which I bought but I won't read untill I've gotten 2.

The last one is Transformers: The War Within which is the story of how Optimus became a Prime and the trials he has to face to earn the title and the respect of his men. I've only read the first two issues and it's looking pretty good. Optimus has always had a special place in my toy box and it's great to see his origins.

So I go back to UNCA this monday and I'm looking forward to it even though I'll be on academic probation I'll have the spirit of a Nononori facing my challenges with HARD WORK AND GUTS!!! (look in to Gunbuster and Diebuster if you didn't get that) First thing I do when I get up there is give everybody their christmas gifts I got for them. It's also going to be hard this semester not having my PS2 when so many good looking games are coming out in the next few months; Ar tonelico, Rouge Galaxy, .hack//GU and Odin Sphere. But if I keep my DS I should survive. Well, so long for now and I hope to see everyone back up at UNCA.

Entering the new year with anime and boredom.

December 31st, 2006 (10:55 pm)
current location: where I've been all day, my ROOM

So today has been a huge mound of doing nothing. I haven't left my house at all. I watched my brother play some Symphony of the Night while I was on the computer. I got to try a game a scrounged up at the flea market yesterday. It's called Incredible Crisis and it's one of those games that aren't meant to be comprehended. It involves four members of a regular japanese family trying to live out their day to get home for their grandmother's birthday, but it proves a challenge when aliens invade, large stone globes roll after you, alien rays shrink you, and a concpericy of wolf mask wearing people.

Then I started to watch and finish the GunGrave anime. ZOMG! One of the best video game animes EVAR! Definitely one of my top twenty series. I think the ending could have been handled a little differently. I kinda preferred the game ending a bit better but at least the anime didn't have the alien head coming out of no where. But it was still good I almost wanted to cry during the last two episodes but my brother never would have let me live it down.

And now I doth be watching Excel Saga with my brother untill midnight or at least untill my mind gets fried and I go unconscious.

Get your own Twelve Days:

I cound the last one the most amusing seeing hoe I just got Final Fantasy III today and is looking to be a good one.

So I've been home since the 13th of december and went to my old summer job the next after. It's tough having to wake up at 5:30am and work a physically taxing job for almost eight hours but boy is it worth it for the $16 an hour. After some initial drama with my parents about my lackluster grades everythings been straightened out.

I turned 19 last sunday and had a meh birthday. Went to hickory to eat at the olive garden for lunch with the family and went laptop shopping for my grandma. I was able to finally snag a copy of Castlevania Curse of Darkness for the PS2 because I didn't want to get the X-box version.

Not much else of interest worth noting except the new comic shop in town is actually pretty decent with alot of older and recent comics but that's not why I go there. I get the figures. He got some cute maid figures that I couldn't resist and he had some pre-orders for gundam models which I absolutely couldn't resist.

Thanksgiving Throw Up.

November 24th, 2006 (05:40 pm)
current location: Town of boredom
current mood: awake
current song: my brother play .hack//GU

So this Thanksgiving is a little different than past thanksgivings. For one I was sick with what my dad likes to call "The Foo-Yuck". In more common terms I had a stomach virus and a pretty gnarly one at that.

It started out Monday night as I had returned to my dorm after watching Heroes in the Highsmith. I had a hall meeting and then went to bed around 11. My stomach was feeling very iffy keeping me up. I thought it was just some unsettled food or gas so I decided to walk up and down my hall. I got bored with that and grabbed my .hack novel "Another birth" and started to read and walk. My stomach settled down a little so I sat down to finish reading and let it settle down more. I tried going back to bed at 2 am but my stomach was still acting up. I continued my reading and walking and sitting cycle untill about 4 when I could feel it coming, I was going to puke. I was about done with the novel too, right were Helba came in for the first time. So yeah, I lost my stromboli I had for dinner and went to bed.

The next day I skipped all classes because I was so sick. The only thing I did was try to sleep and go to the toilet every half hour. The ride home was memorable as I threw up all over the pasenger side of the car from the back seat once. I finally got home and hit the sack to be nursed by my nurse mom. She was very concerned seeing how I reached 103 temperature. I fell a sleep and woke up around 5 to discover Voltron was on and my temp went down to 97.6. All was better but my stomach was still weak.

Nothing of much interest happened at thanksgiving but instead of going to my grandma's house on my mothers side we went to my aunt on my father's side down in South Carolina. Not much to talk about except for my aunt's annoying granddaughter and her cute dogs.

Not much else has happend except for my feeble atempts to get a Wii but it's had when the only retail stores in town are Walmart and Kmart.
